I can't comment on whether the latest kde/lucid packages still have this bug as I currently do not use ubuntu in any environment where compositing is available. It's quite possible that the bug has since been fixed by the kde desktop team. I am sorry for the inconvenience as I am no longer in a position to trouble shoot the issue. Thank you for your time.
