Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

Fresh install of Lucid 10.4.1 - Here is my "cheat sheet" for setting up
VLC:

sudo gedit /usr/share/applications/vlc.desktop

    Change Exec=vlc %U to

      Exec=vlc --vout-filter deinterlace --deinterlace-mode blend
--volume 1024 --fullscreen %U

Synaptic Package Manager-> mozilla-plugin-vlc

Synaptic Package Manager-> libdvdcss2

File Browser -> Edit -> Preferences -> Media

  DVD Video: Open VLC media player

sudo gedit /usr/share/applications/defaults.list

 Replace all "totem" with "vlc"

Right-click an iso movie file -> Properties -> Open With

 Select VLC media player

In Karmic, when I double click a DVD iso image, the movie starts full screen
immediately. In Lucid, it appears that VLC starts the movie full screen, then
it quickly disappears, the VLC program window shows up for a brief second, then
the movie starts full screen and plays normally. A small annoyance that I
thought that I would report.

** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
