What version of ureadahead do you have installed on this system? There have been reports of OOM failures on boot caused by ureadahead behaving poorly (bug #501715). This is believed to be fixed in lucid- updates.
It is exceedingly unlikely that plymouth is actually using so much memory that it *warrants* being killed by the OOM manager, and nobody else has reported such excessive memory usage. > I can see that nobody cares about issues like this, You would stand a better chance of getting a response to your bug report if you didn't lead with comments like: > don't expect anyone to be more constructive about issues like this. You aren't exactly encouraging developers to focus their attention on your bug with this attitude, and if it's not simply a duplicate of the ureadahead problem, this is likely to be a bug that requires a lot of attention to resolve. ** Changed in: plymouth (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- 2 out of 3 boots crash probably because of plymouth https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/613027 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
