@Seth: Oddly, I don't think my laptop has a scroll lock light, so I can't confirm or deny that correlation. I honestly don't quite understand your workaround in #91, sorry. And sorry if my comments got verbose--I'll try to keep them succinct ;-) I'm a bit over my head, but I'm doing my best to provide any diagnostics I can to those who can help. Check out #625239, as I've stumbled upon two different workarounds that work for me, by simply making tiny changes to the boot line.
