I upgraded from Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty to Karmic to Lucid. When starting xiphos I experienced the same segfault described in this bug. I noticed that although xulrunner-1.9.1 in no longer in Lucid, that there is a listing for xulrunner-1.9.1 in my synaptic. If I try to install it, it says "Package xulrunner-1.9.1 has no available version, but exists in the database. This typically means that the package was mentioned in a dependency and never uploaded, has been obsoleted or is not available with the contents of sources.list", and if I click Properties, Installed Files, it lists /etc/gre.d/1.9.1.9.system.conf and /etc/xulrunner-1.9.1/system-greprefs.js.
In /etc/gre.d I have two files: 1.9.1.9.system.conf 1.9.2.8.system.conf.dpkg-bak In synaptic, xulrunner-1.9.2 claims to have installed /etc/gre.d/1.9.2.8.system.conf I tried reinstalling xulrunner-1.9.2 (1.9.2.8+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.10.04.1), but it did not create that missing file. So I tried: $ cd /etc/gre.d $ sudo cp 1.9.2.8.system.conf.dpkg-bak 1.9.2.8.system.conf Now xiphos starts without segfaulting. -- xiphos crashed with SIGSEGV in gecko_html_get_type() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/565859 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
