I digged around a bit in the shutdown, reboot and the like scripts -
essentially all these commands seem to be different calls to halt.

It seems like under some circumstances the shutdown/reboot scripts get
damaged when you install LL on top of KK - this is what happened to me,
I think.

A simple fix could be an instruction appended here about how to
reinstall these scripts, or an update delivered via the updates
mechanism which reinstalls these scripts, maybe even the binaries
associated with them.
