Thanks, Kurt - seems like a long way debugging this. I've deactivated compiz without any luck, so my guess was wrong. I'll go through the X-Troubleshooting list now.

Depends - sometimes right after login, sometimes it's okay for two hours or so > Open lots of applications? No - last freeze was with chromium open only and disabled compiz. > Heavy switching between desktops or vts No. > Suspend/resume No, Computer was on from boot until today without any usage at all. When coming back from work, it froze a few minutes after opening chromium. > Visiting particular web pages or loading particular files Might be possible that every time I was on some kind of flash page. > Signs in dmesg (Radeon, supposed to be something with GPU)? Nope. But the GPU does not really freeze, as inputs from keyboard are okay. > Apport noticed anything? Nope - and no messages I can see in the Xorg.0.log showing problems either. > Freeze after Login (deactivate compiz)? Done, but no good - still freezes. > EQ overflowing?
