WinFF doesn't work at all for me, and I have libavcodec-extra-52 installed.
I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 64bit. I add a few flv files and wanted to convert them to dvd. Upon selecting a preset, no data propagates into the advanced window section. When I hit the convert button, nothing happens.
