further information: when the UI crashes, I can still completely use the keyboard to control programs. when I tried to run "gksudo restart gdm" through the "run-application"-dialog (ALT+F2), gksudo crashed - but I could see an error message for a section, that gksudo could get control over the mouse and something about the possibility of a harmful program preventing it or something (sorry for being unspecific here, it closed too fast).
in lucid, I had installed a program called btnx to use the other keys of my wireless mouse (a usb, wireless logitech revolutions mx) but purged it from the system when I saw some crashes of the program. As this basically means that I have to restart gdm every hour or so, this bug makes the system a real pain to work on, so any help is greatly appreciated. -- Gnome UI becomes unresponsive after a few minutes https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/630122 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
