Hi, I'm using Maverick for a few days now and since yesterday I have the same problem.
I'm using GDM and on power-on I have to login a first time (and it's the correct password) but then GDM ask me again the password. If I switch to tty1 I can login normally. If I switch back to tty7 I don't find GDM anymore but a black screen with some messages about the loading of the system and at the end I can see a line with strange characters. It's like the GDM login input doesn't have the focus when I enter my password first. The second time I login, there is no problem. I'm not home so I can't attach anything but tell what files you'll need.
