Please grant an FFe for emacs23 (23.2+1-4ubuntu1) so it can get into Maverick.
It brings us up-to-date with Debian's packaging of emacs23, updates use of install-info according to new standards, and provides the features of the newest release of Emacs (see attached NEWS file). I've built it on my own machine and the ubuntu-elisp ppa, and tested daemon mode editing and upgrade from the previous emacs23 package.
