Relax. They (upstream) have a fix - of course! This bug has been marked as a secret show-case bug for some MS fan-boi (or Ballmer on his swan song) to pull out as evidence as to how kack "linux" (Gnome) is because you can't even configure your screen-saver.
As soon as that happens, the patch will be applied to steal away the thunder and undermine MS marketing strategy. This big is also part of the strategy for bug #1 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1 All this is obvious (and I shouldn't have to explain it) if you read between-the-lines here: http://live.gnome.org/GnomeScreensaver/FrequentlyAskedQuestions#head- 64ef29e28226e09a3b849d8f00726cc004625c62 And realize that most of the reasons given are pretty much dumb reasons that only appeal to powerful entities who need help controlling their serfs and in no way relate to giving competent power over their own operating system. Once you realise that, it all makes perfect sense! -- no 'Settings' button in gnome-screensaver https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/22007 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
