Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: cups
In order to get Kerberos authentication to work for the Windows/Samba
printer on my network, I wanted to comment out the AuthInfoRequired line
in my printers.conf. However, it turns out that this file gets
rewritten periodically; the time stamp suggests this is caused by
/etc/logrotate.d/cups

The effect is that the printer driver prompts for my user name and
password every time I try to print a document. This is mildly annoying
(especially because my local user name is different from what I need in
the authentication dialog) but acceptable; also, an alternative
workaround would be to hard-code my user name and password in the device
URI.
