Not a bug in cheese, as mentioned by the reporter the system has low ram. and the crash is due to checkbox calling the gstreamer pipeline.
A few questions though: - Was the webcam a built-in webcam? or an addtional one? - If an additional one, Wouldnt the webcam have mentioned the RAM required for it to function? - If mentioned, what was the Required RAM listed for the webcam? Not sure this is even a bug, if the hardware requirements are not satisfied and the webcam would obviously not start or in this case crash trying to start.. ** Package changed: cheese (Ubuntu) => linux (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- video apps crash when trying to use /dev/video0 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/625074 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
