I have the exact same problem on an AMD Turion 64 with an ATI Radeon Xpress 200M with Ubuntu Feisty Fiend Beta. I have tried several display drivers and the problem does not change. I also saw synaptics drivers mentioned in the logs. The hang is irrecoverable. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone would tell me why this is happening.
