Indeed I am :) I believe this problem to be fixed in the upstream code base but it is not available in any official release yet. When I make a new release it will be available in my PPA until the official Ubuntu package gets updated.
If you have a slow Internet connection, you can speed up the network update process by discarding the satellites you do not need. You can edit which files to download at Edit -> Preferences -> TLE Update -> Files to fetch.
