@madbiologist: That is odd and thank's for bothering... Issue: Clearly identified Full HD videos in Ubuntu 8.04, not a problem; 9.04 not a problem; 9.10 not a problem but some oddities - as small image disturbances, at times. Same videos in Ubuntu 10.04: Not working properly, with serious lag and sound and video out of sync. Same CPU, same memory, later OS -- and yes, I reinstalled the sequence of Ubuntu OS above, testing the specific videos. Different tests also run on system components, not a problem, not a warning.
Note: I'll try the 'glxinfo | grep render' in a couple of days -- the OS-upgrade path above took the better part of a week-end. Sum-up: Something is wrong here, because running the Full HD-videos in the dual-booted Windows XP, doesn't even flicker and if your suggestion is to upgrade my system, then it sound a lot like the advice of that Apple-figurehead of yours -- I believe a part of the adaptation of Ubuntu is that it support legacy systems, something M$ has dropped all- together. //S -- Only HD video out of sync with sound https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/575389 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
