It looks like your computer needs a "force-release" quirk. Can you
please try this on current 10.04.1:

 - Does it still happen with 10.04.1 in the first place?
 - If so, do things go back to normal if you press Ctrl+Alt+F1 and then 
Ctrl+Alt+F7 (could also be F8, should bring you back to the graphical 
environment)

If you can say "yes" to both questions, then you need to follow
/usr/share/doc/udev/README.keymap.txt.gz to determine the scan codes of
the broken/missing keys, and also send me the /sys/class/dmi/id/*
output.
