This is a shocker.

This is yet another example of Ubuntu not taking security seriously.
This is not a problem on RedHat or Fedora.

And this issue exists on the server edition as well!  Reading each
other's files by default is _not_ cool.  I can't believe how long I've
been running with such an insecure configuration.
