Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: geany

I use Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS, Geany 0.19-1ubuntu1~lucid1 from ppa:geany-dev/ppa
when editing PHP files if I type something like:
"this is a string with $vari
then Geany should pop up the autocompletion dialog with variables starting with
$vari but nothing happens, autocompletion is probably disabled inside strings.
But when editing perl files autocompletion pops up but interpolated variables
are not colored.
Also, when editing perl files there is no distinction in color between strings
constructed with ' and " (without/with interpolation) and autocompletion does
not work with qq{} string constants and with multiline strings (I mean the
syntax: <<END).

** Affects: geany (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
