Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-radeon
When using KMS, "dmesg" shows that the radeon driver puts my 7500 Mobility in 1X mode instead of 4X mode which the AGP V2 bridge supports. It used to default to the correct mode with 9.10. The problem originally appeared on 10.04. lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu maverick (development branch) Release: 10.10 apt-cache policy xserver-xorg-video-radeon xserver-xorg-video-radeon: Installed: 1:6.13.1-1ubuntu2 Candidate: 1:6.13.1-1ubuntu2 Version table: *** 1:6.13.1-1ubuntu2 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/main i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status The driver should be setting the detected AGP v2 bridge to 4x mode instead of the "fallback" 1x mode. Please let me know if any additional information is required to help resolve this problem, I'd love to see a release of Ubuntu where the first thing I do after installing is NOT have to fight with my Radeon 7500 Mobility on my T42 Thinkpad! ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- radeon putting AGP V2 device into 1x mode https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/619047 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
