Toshiba Satelitte 1110 with graphics adapter 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc Radeon Mobility M6 LY. Same problem as everyone else - black text both with live CD and on install. I have tried different accounts, and install on USB but still the same problem. 2D is OK and GNOME works fine.
** Changed in: netbook-launcher (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed ** Changed in: netbook-launcher (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete ** Description changed: Binary package hint: netbook-launcher Icon labels & section button labels in netbook launcher are appearing in black. I am running Lucid (10.04) on my Thinkpad X-31, dual-booting with Mint 7 & WinXP. It is current (`apt-get update && apt-get dist-upgrade -y` reports 0 available updates.) I have been running it (& updating every time I boot it) since before Beta 1 was officially released. Current version: Linux thinkpad-x31 2.6.32-19-generic #28-Ubuntu SMP Wed Mar 31 17:46:20 UTC 2010 i686 GNU/Linux It works & it's significantly quicker than before, especially the graphics. I also tried the Netbook Remix launcher. It too works way better than it did in 9.04, where it was unusably slow; previously, since Ubuntu 8.x, I have had to disable DRI in xorg.conf to make X usably quick on this machine. The only snag is, all the fonts are black, which on a dark purple background is very hard to read. I am not sure if this is normal for the netbook remix. Other colours look OK, fonts in Firefox etc. have their normal colours - it's just all the buttons & icon labels in the launcher. I've tried changing to the lighter Radiance theme. No difference.
