Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox
Firefox 3.6.8; Ubuntu 10.04, fresh install (as well as previous Ubuntu version). With the new Google Images, see http://www.google.com/imghp, browsing a while searching for images, the amount of memory used steadily increases. My system becomes very slow (unusable) after all memory is consumed. Memory can only be released by closing Firefox again. Not sure how to test what specifically causes this (Firefox, Java, etc). Note: I did not yet install Flash plugins yet. Feel free to give tips to pinpoint the problem, or indicate you have the problem as well. ~$ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS Release: 10.04 ~$ apt-cache policy firefox firefox: Installed: 3.6.8+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.10.04.1 Candidate: 3.6.8+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.10.04.1 Version table: *** 3.6.8+build1+nobinonly-0ubuntu0.10.04.1 0 500 http://ch.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid-updates/main Packages 500 http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid-security/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 3.6.3+nobinonly-0ubuntu4 0 500 http://ch.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ lucid/main Packages ** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Firefox memory issue with new Google Images https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/615247 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
