As a coincidence, I believe this has been fixed today. Could you try installing http://people.canonical.com/~diwic/temp/alsa-intel-hda- optiplex-dkms_1.0.23_all.deb (first uninstall the drivers you installed yesterday), reboot, and see if it helps?
