I don't think I've seen the reported symptoms with Lucid. I did experience complete lockups (about as often as the reported problem occurred) in Lucid before (and in Karmic), but not anymore.
Not sure if related to this issue, but I see temporary lockups when I play Urban Terror. I think I had this in Karmic too. Occurs once per hour or so, screen flickers and the content in the audio buffer is repeated. Mouse/keyboard input is ignored, it's not possible to switch to the console. Everything goes back to normal after 10-20 seconds.
