In the Qosmio X500-Q895S I made the internal mic work downloading the drivers from: http://www.linuxant.com/alsa-driver/ after installation, I run alsamixer from the terminal, pressed F4, set Analog Mic Boost to 30db, and input source to MIC_F I hope this helps...
