Sorry for not replying. I don't have administrator privileges on the machine on which I was having problems. I can't do things like install network manager or try out solutions involving the installation of new software so I'm not sure you'll be able to help me very much. For what it's worth, I haven't experienced any problems with the UbuntuOne Client since my original posting. Feel free to disregard this bug.
