I noticed that the first PID given by pgrep cupsd is actually related to apcupsd, i.e. $ ps ax|grep cupsd 4029 ? Ssl 0:00 /sbin/apcupsd 9683 ? Ss 0:00 /usr/sbin/cupsd on the amd64 PC. Also, I noticed that when I (re)start cupsys, i.e. $ sudo /etc/init.d/cupsys (re)start until I give the Ctrl-C there are two cupsd processes running.
