1) Okay. I didn't see anything terrible there, could you add an alsa-info as 
well?

2) Maybe, but that requires someone with the hardware to do a "git
bisect", I think. It is also likely that what screwed up this hardware
fixed it for something else, so switching back to that might not be an
option anyway.

3) Since yesterday, that's not entirely true. I'm now doing this to
learn more about the sound driver architecture, and to qualify myself
for my new job.
