Looking at the DpkgTerminalLog, this was actually a problem with dpkg 
segfaulting, not ufw. Because this was happening in the unpack phase, it seems 
like this is probably a local issue, perhaps with the filesystem. I suggest 
performing a filesystem check and running the following in a terminal:
$ sudo dpkg --configure -a
$ sudo apt-get -f install
$ sudo apt-get upgrade
$ sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

I am going to close this bug as Invalid for now. Please reopen if you
can provide specific steps to reproduce.
