Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: indicator-network

Why does indicator-network have to front-end connman when network-
manager already has all the features a desktop user needs for network
management such as Mobile Broadband, VPN, etc.

Why can't indicator-network be rewritten to be a front-end replacement
for network-manager-gnome (the Notification Area front-end for network-
manager). Surely this would be a much better option. I would of thought
that it would be easier to rewrite indicator-network to work with
network-manager (and change network-manager so it doesn't depend on
network-manager-gnome anymore) than to implement the necessary features
in connman and provide front end options for these new features in
indicator-network?
