Here's my proposal A: (1) I fix ndiswrapper to handle kernel 2.6.35 (2) Kernel provides ndiswrapper-modules (3) I change ndiswrapper-utils-1.9 to recommend ndiswrapper-modules | ndiswrapper-dkms
This way, all normal installations use the version shipped in Ubuntu's kernel, but if needed (e.g., for custom kernels), the dkms version can be used. Here's my proposal B: (1) I fix ndiswrapper to handle kernel 2.6.35 (2) linux stops shipping a pre-built ndiswrapper This way, dkms will be used always. ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- package ndiswrapper-dkms 1.56-1 failed to install/upgrade: ndiswrapper kernel module failed to build https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/590090 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
