Also occurs to me, and occurs very often, sometimes over five times a day. Apport always wants to report the bug after the screen flashes black a few times, and then some font characters appear wrongly. AMD64 installation of Ubuntu Maverick. Appears to be a regression, and does not occur for me when choosing the 2.6.35-4 kernel from the GRUB list (hold shift after powering on computer to view)
