Could someone please explain to me what this supposed Fix is that has
been released (according to the top of this page)? Nothing listed here
fixes the problem.

It was suggested, above, that I add "nomodeset" to my Grub, but, as I
said, that DOES NOT fix the problem. Yes, if I add it to my Grub I
regain Resume functionality. But I also render my computer unusably
slow. I see a significant drop in the speed with which my computer
renders windows, I am no longer able to use any software whatsoever that
employs 3D effects (I think this means that I no longer can use OpenGL),
etc... I think this occurs because adding "nomodeset" somehow
interferes with my video card functionality.

I should note I find a noticeable performance drop whether I use Compiz
or Metacity with compositing turned on. I do not notice as significant
a drop when i use Metacity without compositing, though I still cannot
use any graphics-intensive programs. For example, I cannot use ANY of
the five games in the recent Indie Games Bundle, all of which I can use
if I do NOT add "nomodeset." I also see a significant drop in the
quality of DVD playback, as well as flash video.

Please, tell me what information I can provide to help solve this
problem. Because it is not solved and it is a showstopper for me.
