The following article helped me to repair grub so that I could get the computer running: http://www.webupd8.org/2010/05/fix-symbol-grubputs-not-found-when.html
I had to modify the instructions given there because I had /usr on a separate partition. The next important step was to modify fstab to mount the hard drives by UUID, as disk order gets changed so the older method (by /dev/sdX) is not reliable. I think that part of the problem my be related to the fact that I am now using ext4 instead of ext3. -- Linux 2.6.32-22-generic won't load in Kubuntu 10.04 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/599369 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
