I don't know what happened, but (after update?) things are -currently- looking a lot better. My asus still overheats from time to time (typical for asus apperently) and then kacpid kicks in, but now, instead of staying up there hogging my cpu, it falls back into the small cpu-usage category.
Don't know what ubuntu guys did, but it did the trick for me ! -- kacpid uses 100% of CPU.
