I can also confirm this bug on a Gateway NV7915u, running Ubuntu 10.04, kernel 2.6.32.23-generic. Saghaulor's workaround of manually modifying /proc/acpi/video/GFX0/DD02/brightness works for me as well.
Is there some logging that can be enabled in order to see what happens behind the scenes when the Fn + command buttons for brightness are pressed? So we can see if it is in fact just a permission issue, or perhaps something more? -- Screen brightness can not be adjusted in Lucid with Intel Arrandale graphics https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/573984 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
