I just tried your command, and succeeded. There must be something about your drive, media or system that's causing the problem. Attach the output of dvd+rw-mediainfo /dev/dvd to the bug report. I'd like you to try some experiments. Buy some different brand media. If your media is Memorex in particular, there are known problems. The best media are Taiyo Yuden (Japanese). Next best is Verbatim. Sony and TDK have also given me good results.
Next, download and burn to CD (if you are able) a 32-bit 10.04 Ubuntu, and boot from the media. Install dvd+rw-tools and re-run your growisofs burn command. This will tell us if the problem is kernel/64-bit related. What's the size of the iso file you're burning? Check your DVD burner manufacturer's website for firmware upgrades (get firmware level from output of dvd+rw-mediainfo). Flash the drive to the latest level available. Firmware updates for multi-media drives are fairly common, and come at intervals as short as 6 months. I've found these to be critical in solving my own problems. Try burning to some other type of DVD media, like DVD+R. or DVD-RW. If you have a dual boot disk, or can boot the machine in Windows, try the burn there. Report all results here. -Stuart -- growisofs freeze on `builtin_dd` when try to iso burn https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/595603 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
