Bonne, what exactly do you mean by "it worked the second time"? Do you mean that there was no freeze or that it froze but did not bring the network down? If it froze, the logs show that this is not a GPU hang as I first suspected.
Do you connect to the computer via wireless? The wireless networking is started from X, so if X goes down it may take the wireless connection with it. For debugging X issues it is better to be connected via an ethernet cable. What you write in commen #6: BUG: soft lockup - CPU#0 stuck for 61s! [plymouthd:409] indicates that this may have something to do with plymouth.
