>From looking at the log file Tom, it appears that the partition names do not follow the general rule of thumb listed in comment #11.
Except from gparted_details.htm log file: Could not stat /dev/mapper/pdc_jcchiiabp5 --- No such file or directory Instead the partition name appears to have been derived by simply appending "p" plus the partition number to the device name. Still, the kpartx command included in GParted Live should have created the necessary /dev/mapper/pdc_jcchiiab5 device entry.... I suspect that we are encountering a mismatch in dmraid partition naming amoung parted, gparted, dmraid, and kpartx. Could you list the contents of the /dev/mapper command after GParted fails to create or format a partition? E.g., ls -l /dev/mapper -- Gparted does not list dmraid devices https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/554582 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
