Hi, I'm using Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx (with pulseaudio pre-installed). Connect your soundcard to USB. For getting surround support you have to search for the line
; default-sample-channels = 2 in /etc/pulse/daemon.conf Remove the ";" and alter 2 to 6 for 5.1 support. Then restart pulseaudio in terminal via "pulseaudio -k" or reboot. Now you can control your soundcard in the systemmixer (top right corner you see a speakersymbol). There you have to choose the creativecard. Afterwards you can set the properties according to your needs.
