Also breaks Samsung and presume any laptop with the same wireless chipset. Mine was an upgrade from Edgy using the new updater, and failed to upgrade the linux-restricted-modules-generic, marking the new one as "held back", along with:
libstrigihtmlgui0 linux-headers-generic strigi-client strigi-daemon No idea what "held back" means, it was not a consultative process. Manually installing linux-restricted-modules-generic (in my case using "apt-get install linux-restricted-modules-generic") resolved the problem. This would not be a good release version feature... BTW, Linuxing for 7 years, always on the bleeding edge, but only Ubuntu since Edgy.
