Sorry for my late response to this. I've run apport against the latest lucid kernel, however, I'm not sure if I'm seeing the same bug anymore.
Not too long after this bug report, I believe it was at kernel 2.6.32-17-generic, the problem went from bad to worse. It would freeze when starting Xorg. And it's been like that for each kernel update since then. I've been running Xorg with vesa instead, as a workaround. The system works perfectly when using the vesa driver for Xorg, apart from slower graphics of course. I've also tried the mainline kernel corresponding to the latest kernel (2.6.32-02063211-generic), but no change. Would it be helpful if I also tried the mainline kernel corresponding to the kernel (-16-generic) I was using when initially reporting the bug? ** Tags removed: needs-upstream-testing -- Closing laptop lid freezes system https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/549983 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
