I have this same problem with UNE 10.04 HP mini 5102 with Broadcom STA driver.
I did has instructed in #35 and tested with 10 reboot and it worked fine after each test (well, Networkmanager is much slower with establishing connection than Windows or OS X, but that's another issue).
