This bug has been somehow solved. Tuxguitar version is the same (1.1-1ubuntu4)
but something must have been updated (maybe graphic driver or java... I don't
know). Tested on 2 different machine equipped with Ubuntu 10.04 amd64.
I'm marking this as invalid. If others still have this issue, feel free
to remark as confirmed.
