On second inspection, after reading your comment, this does indeed appear to be slightly different, though the two bugs could still end up being caused by the same problem.
Could you add `set -x` to the second line of /usr/lib/ubiquity /migration-assistant/ma-ask on the live CD, run the installer until it crashes, and attach /var/log/syslog? I'm having a hard time figuring out exactly why it's trying to mount /dev/sda6. If you cannot, I will try to proceed without that information.
