i did reformat my two linux partitions (/ and swap) and had the crash. it really desapeared when i unplugged my usb hub. actually, i also had to remove my hub to run a linux puppy live cd a few month ago. to the usb 2 hub are attached a compact flash card reader and midiman 2*2 midi interface. cheers.
