Hi, txwikinger, thanks for looking at the problem. I just wanted to set up the internet syncing with NTP so I tried to enable it. So far so good, the application asks me to auto-install it for me, so I say: Sure, install the needed packages...
But for some reason the package installation hung and I had to kill it. After that, I opened the date/time edit window again, and I tried to set up internet syncing with NTP again... It asks me to auto-install NTP again, but this time, nothing seems to happen... The controls in the application get disabled and I see a loading cursor for a few seconds, but after that, the application returns back to how it was before I tried to install NTP. After that, I installed ntp and ntpdate manually with apt-get (sudo apt- get install ntp ntpdate) And now, when I try to set up internet sync with NTP I just experience the same problem over and over again, I can't get the application to install NTP or to let it see that NTP is already installed -- Date/Time: Synchronizing with servers doesn't work through NTP (Feisty) https://launchpad.net/bugs/96032 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
