Why on earth do you have log files on a ram disk? if something goes bad
and you get a reboot, you loose the logs.

Now, if you really want them on the ram disk, script up so that the
needed directories will be created. This isn't a bug, it's a design
issue. IIRC Apache also won't start if you remove /var/log/apache
