Public bug reported:

After upgrading to lucid I got an unstable wifi connection: it
frequently got lost and was sometimes not able to reconnect. The problem
was logged as follows:

After looking for help in forums I found out that the problem can be
solved by executing a command

echo 'options iwl3945 disable_hw_scan=1' | sudo tee /etc/modprobe.d
/options-iwl3945.conf

setting an option to disable a hardware scan for iwl3945 which probably
should be the default because the hardware scan seems to make probelms .
After executing this command and reboot the wifi connection remains
stable, but another problem comes: following messages are added to
kern.log every two minutes:

So it looks like there are two different problems in iwl3945.
